1941: East German government completed the Berlin Wall.
1978: Three Americans had crossed the Atlantic Ocean from the hot air balloon. Ben Abrujho, Larry Newman and Max Anderson took six days to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
1987: Rudolph Hess, Hitler's close was found dead in prison. West Berlin's Spandau prison, Hess received the bodies of 93-year-old.
1998: US President Bill Clinton, a former employee of the White House with Monica Lewinsky admitted to improper relationships.
1999: strong earthquake in Turkey killed at least one thousand people. August 17, 1999 earthquake was 6.7 magnitude on the Richter scale.
